Required for new students entering the department and undergraduate majors. A mix of content where Geophysics faculty introduce their research and others, from throughout the school, introduce the resources available in the school to support research activities. Students register for 1 unit: two hours in-class on Mondays with an extra hour attending a department or group seminar (not that of your primary advisor), or summarizing information on resources to be distributed to others. Offered every year, autumn quarter.
